Tracy K. Gibbs
Chief Scientific Advisor
Tracy K. Gibbs lived in Japan for several years where he received extensive schooling in pharmacognosy, organic chemistry, and botanical medicine, while also receiving an honorary doctorate degree. He has formulated supplements and skin care products for dozens of brands in the nutritional and personal care industries, and is the inventor and patent holder of a proprietary enzyme delivery system. Tracy is the author of four books and has taught at various schools and universities throughout the world. He has lectured for worldwide symposiums and conferences, including the Malaysia Health Symposium, The Anti-Aging Association of Korea, Biotech China, and the International Anti-Aging and Integrative Medicine Society. He is a member of the American Society of Pharmacognosy. Tracy serves as Chief Scientific Advisor for Vasayo.
Dr. Stephen R. Sabo
Dr. Stephen R. Sabo is highly qualified to join our Scientific Advisory Board, as is evident by his vast experience in the medical field as well as his time spent teaching medicine. Dr. Sabo is currently an Attending Emergency Physician in the Emergency Department at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Suffern, NY, where he also teaches as an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine.
Dr. Sabo graduated in medicine at the Chicago Medical School, but also spent time studying in Lille, France, at the Faculte Libre de Medecine. His postgraduate study took him to the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York where he completed his residency in Emergency Medicine. In addition, he completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the Beth Israel Medical Center in New York.
He has also spent time as reviewer for the American Board of Internal Medicine Examination, as well as Commissioner for the Northwest Bergen Regional Health Commission in Bergen County, New Jersey. Dr. Sabo has served as the Vice President and President of the Upper Saddle River Board of Health in New Jersey.
Prior to studying medicine, Dr. Sabo earned his Bachelor of Arts from Brandeis University in Waltham, MA.
Dr. Lana Louie A. Wania-Galicia
Dr. Lana Louie A. Wania-Galicia is currently the Chief Medical Officer at the Arroyo Vista Advanced Pain Specialists, Inc. in Moorpark, CA., as well as a Pain Management Consultant for the Conejo Pain Medical Group located in Thousand Oaks, CA. Dr. Wania-Garcia earned her Doctor of Medicine, as well as her Bachelor of Science in Biology, at the University of Santo Tomas in her native Phillipines.
Dr. Wania-Galicia has received numerous awards for her work and service. These include the “Excellence in Medicine and Outreach” award from the Filipino American Association of Southern California, the “Most Outstanding Filipino American in the USA” award from the Philippine Children’s Charities, and the “Most Outstanding Teacher of the Year” award from UC Davies Pain Center, which she has won twice. Her extensive research has been published in several medical journals, and her expertise has been used by a host of organizations that have had her present and lecture to other health care professionals around the country.
Dr. Wania-Galicia is an active member of various professional and civic organizations, which include: the American Society of Anesthesiology, the UST Medical Alumni Association-Philippines, and the American Pain Foundation.
Dr. James B. Baker
Dr. James B. Baker is currently the President of Medical Executive Staff, as well as Co-Medical Director, at the Northwest Arkansas Rehabilitation Hospital. He is also a member of several medical societies including the American Osteopathic Medical Association and the American College of Osteopathic Internists.
Dr. Baker earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at OK State University – College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Tulsa, OK. Prior to that, Dr. Baker obtained his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Henderson State University in Arkansas.
Dr. Baker has been the recipient of various awards throughout his career. These include the “Dean’s Award of Academic Excellence,” and the “Paul Mooney, Most Outstanding Research” award from Oklahoma State University, College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery. He was also honored as the “Most Outstanding Graduate” from the Oklahoma State Board of Regents and the “National Outstanding Internist,” among other honors.
Dr. Rolando Izquierdo
Dr. Izquierdo is a sports medicine specialist who brings a unique skillset and perspective to the Vasayo Scientific Advisory Board. It was at the University of Cincinnati Hospitals (now known as University of Cincinnati Medical Center) where he completed his residency and developed his deep interest in sports medicine. During this time, he provided coverage as a team physician for the University of Cincinnati athletic programs and for the Cincinnati Bengal NFL football team. He pursued advanced training by completing fellowships in shoulder and elbow reconstruction, as well as sports medicine, at Columbia University at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York city before launching his practice.
He served as chairman for the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons’ evidence based medicine committee for the clinical practice guideline for the management of shoulder arthritis. He has served as invited faculty at the American Academy of Orthopedics to instruct surgeons from around the world in the latest techniques in arthroscopic and reconstructive shoulder surgery. In addition, Dr. Izquierdo was nominated and selected to join the prestigious American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES). ASES is an invitation-only society of just 420 leading national and international Orthopedic surgeons specializing in surgery of the shoulder and elbow. Dr. Izquierdo routinely performs a high volume of total shoulder replacements, reverse total shoulder replacements, arthroscopic rotator cuff repairs, as well as arthroscopic shoulder instability and labral repairs. He also performs sports-related elbow and knee surgeries. Dr. Izquierdo is fluent in both English and Spanish.
